Eagle's Wing

Scientific name: Buteo buteo 

Distribution: This beautiful flying bird can be found a little throughout Europe, including Portuguese territory, and is still found as far as Central Asia. Avoid the cold making small migrations south where there is no snow, to feed in the open. In spring and summer he climbs further north, where he finds plenty of food in the green fields of the coldest countries in Europe. 

Feeding: All rodents, from rats, rabbits, squirrels, rabbits, even ferrets, are part of their diet. It also feeds on smaller birds, or even carcasses from dead animals. 

Size: Adult is between 50 and 55 cm and can have a wingspan of about 1.20 meters.

Conservation Status: Its conservation status is not of concern, as the number of individuals is still plentiful. 

Reproduction: The posture of this bird is 2 to 4 eggs, which hatch about 34 days after laying.
